Over the last month, many of you have been in touch to voice concerns over the decision from Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT) to end fishing at the Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, and I am delighted to hear today that an agreement has now been reached which will allow the fishing to continue.
Earlier this month I held a meeting with KWT to put forward the local concerns, and to urge compromise - and I am pleased they have listened. I would also like to thank the Angling Trust and Bromley & District Angling Society for their constructive engagement.
The Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve is a wonderful location, and the plans KWT have to improve the site and attract more visitors are most welcome – especially now the local anglers can also be involved.
Thank you to everyone who wrote to me on this issue. By working together we have helped make a difference.
