1. IMPROVE OUR LOCAL TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE
- Campaign for contactless ticketing services at all our train stations
- Oppose the London Mayor’s proposal to extend the Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to our border
- Support Sevenoaks District Council in creating better cycling infrastructure
- Seek our fair share of Kent County Council funding for local bus services
2. PROTECT OUR GREEN BELT
- Argue for the Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to be considered when setting housing targets
- Work with residents and the local councils to send a clear message to developers: if a speculative planning application is put in for the Green Belt, and there is not public support, the answer will be no
- Support tougher enforcement powers against unauthorised development
3. SUPPORT OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES
- Help secure future investment in our area including the New Ash Green Shopping Centre
- Campaign for the return of banking facilities in Swanley
- Ensure support is available to help businesses with rising energy costs and keep our local economy moving
4. CUT LOCAL CRIME
- Work with Kent Police and our Police and Crime Commissioner to see more police officers on our streets
- Tackle antisocial behaviour and fly tipping
- Push for better use of existing resources, such as CCTV to catch offenders
5. STAND UP FOR FAMILIES AND YOUNG PEOPLE
- Protect local grammar schools, which the Liberal Democrats oppose
- Secure future funding for SEN provisions
- Seek more 20mph speed limits around schools
- Work with ministers to reduce the cost of childcare for families
6. CHAMPION LOCAL HEALTHCARE
- Ensure funding for local NHS services as they clear the backlog caused by the pandemic
- Champion improved facilities and medical services at our hospitals
- Support GPs to provide more face-to-face appointments
