It was wonderful to today welcome Minister for School, Robin Walker to Dunton Green Primary School.
During the visit he saw the National Tutoring Programme in action. He met the superb maths academic mentor Ms Williams, and two of the pupils she teaches, and heard first hand their experience. It was clear how much the children enjoyed this one to one teaching and how helpful they found it.
The Minister was also shown around the rest of the school by the inspirational Head Tracey Boanas, and met with a number of teachers and pupils. Under the leadership of the Head, and with brilliant support from her teachers, Dunton Green Primary has come on leaps and bounds in recent years – as demonstrated by being crowned overall primary school champions at the most recent Kent Literacy awards at the end of 2020. The Minister was hugely impressed by the teachers and pupils, and I’m delighted I was able to showcase one of our many excellent schools.
