In the summer I wrote in support for Sevenoaks District Council to implement a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for The Vine - and I am pleased residents have also shown their support.
Today the council’s People and Places Committee will be considering the implementation of the PSPO and I have therefore written to Lesley Dyball, the relevant Sevenoaks District Council Cabinet Portfolio Holder indicating my continued support.
The Committee will also be considering a proposal to commence a consultation for a PSPO around the M25 Spur Road, Hewitts Roundabout, A21 area in relation to dangerous and noisy car meets that have taken place.
Many of you will also be aware of these problems from my previous posts and I am pleased that the number of car meets have reduced since the summer. This is due in no small part to a number of local residents and Halstead Parish Council who have been brilliant in highlighting these issues, as well as great work by Kent Police and Sevenoaks District Council.
However, we must keep pressure up, and I have therefore written to Lesley Dyball expressing my support for this consultation to commence, and for a PSPO to be put in place. I will keep you all updated
