As you will know, I have been working to secure a mass vaccination site in West Kent. After arranging a meeting last week with West Kent MPs and Kent Community Health Foundation Trust Chief Executive Paul Bentley, I am delighted to report that a site in Tonbridge has now been approved. Paul and his team have worked immensely hard to secure this so quickly, and my thanks go to all involved.
The Angel Centre, in Angel Lane, will open during the second week of February. And, like the sites already in Folkestone and Gravesend, will be open to members of the public who receive a letter from the NHS inviting them to book.
People aged over 70 and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable will be invited first. Nobody needs to contact the NHS, as people will be invited when it is their turn. And it will still be possible to have your vaccine at a local venue if you choose to do so.
The vaccination centre will have the capacity to inoculate 3,000 people every day, and will be open seven days a week. Supply of vaccines will be the constraint on numbers able to be vaccinated, I will post updates on this when I have them.
I will be updating my website shortly and if you have any questions in the meantime please email me at laura.trott.mp@parliament.uk.
